The Acid

The Acid created an ambient, pulsating score for the bomb.

Members of the band include the globe-trotting, Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Adam Freeland, creator of the subversive crossover hit “We Want Your Soul,” founder of Brighton Marine Parade Records; Californian Steve Nalepa, a producer, composer, and professor of music technology; Berkeley graduate, LA-based musician Jens Kuross; and Australian, Grammy-nominated artist and producer RY X, whose “Berlin EP” was released in 2013 to great acclaim, and whose latest album, “Blood Moon,” came out in 2022.

The Acid’s debut album, “Liminal,” was released in 2014, and the sound they’ve created together is truly genre-less. “The Acid fuse indie with post-Burial bass so seamlessly that you forget The xx ever existed...,” said NME; “this album is an imaginative and accessible bout of boundary-crushing.”

“The one piece of connective tissue throughout the film, besides the subject itself, is the film’s score, from Los Angeles electronic minimalist outfit The Acid. Throughout a harrowing parade of images and fleeting moments of whimsy, the droning, pulsating music underneath brings an alternating sense of dread and power.”
